More than just Automatic License Plate Readers

Flock's own marketing says "no plate, no problem." The system builds a vehicle fingerprint, including make, model, color, bumper stickers, dents and damage patterns, roof racks, aftermarket wheels and spoilers, window decals, even mismatched paint.

Independent researchers have found Flock cameras leaking Wi-Fi and Bluetooth data. In dozens of cases, live feeds and weeks of footage were publicly accessible without a password, like a searchable streaming catalog. None of that is a license plate.
